Frieren provides an open-source alternative to the commercial WiFi Pineapple: a web panel, integrated terminal, and package manager for running wireless-auditing modules on generic router/SBC hardware running OpenWrt, rather than a dedicated proprietary device.

Use it only against networks you own or are explicitly authorized to test — see the disclaimer.

Getting started

Frieren is a lightweight micro-framework (PHP backend, React web panel) that runs on top of OpenWrt on routers and single-board computers, giving Wi-Fi-Pineapple-style capabilities on cheap, off-the-shelf hardware instead of Hak5's proprietary device. It's installed via the flashing/install scripts in the linked release repository rather than as a standalone bootable ISO, and its functionality is extended through separately published community modules rather than a fixed built-in tool catalog.
